This module proposes a smooth surface interpolation method capable of handling discontinuities such as faults on a regular mesh. Based on multi-scale minimisation of the second gradient using a conjugate gradient solver, this approach can process millions of points in a few seconds on a standard workstation. The interpolation guarantees the continuity of the surface and its first gradient, except for lines defined as discontinuities. This method has many applications in the geosciences, in particular for building structural models from points in seismic data.
All pixels with an intensity value of 0 are considered to be interpolated.
